Meet Our Team

Your pet’s health is our team’s mission.

Alex Emerson, DVM

Practice Owner & Veterinarian

Alex Emerson is a happy-go-lucky nerd. After 15 years as a dedicated performance horse veterinarian, he fell asleep one day and somehow drove into a small animal clinic, where he felt like a kid in a candy store surrounded by neat toys and opportunities to learn something new every day.

The only thing he enjoys more than learning is teaching all the nerdy things he’s constantly discovering. Since that fateful day, Alex has been regularly reminded of how meaningful his new career has become. He enjoys listening to pet parents and working with them to create happier, healthier lives for their pets, and helping them share more years together.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Alex enjoys boating and fishing with his wife, Wendy. Having grown up in Nova Scotia, Canada, he still plays hockey every week, and his two sons are hockey players as well. He enjoys spending as much time as possible with family, whether on the water, at the rink, or cheering from the stands.

He was fortunate to find Dr. Javier Gonzalez, who founded Bluewater Animal Health Center and was ready to hand over the reins. Alex feels honored to carry on Dr. Gonzalez’s legacy of providing a high level of care for animals and the people who love them.

Welcome!
I’m Alexis. I’ve been working with Dr. Gonzalez for a little over two years now as a veterinary technician, and I absolutely love what I do. I was born and raised in South Florida and went to the University of Central Florida in Orlando, where I majored in Biology.
I’ve always had a passion for animals, and my ultimate goal is to become an exotic animal veterinarian. Every day at the clinic gives me the chance to learn something new and help both pets and their people. I really enjoy connecting with pet parents and always encourage you to ask questions—being informed is one of the best things you can do for your furry (or scaly!) family members.
I look forward to meeting you and your pets!

Hi, my name is Brooklynne! I began my journey in veterinary medicine at the age of 16 and graduated high school with my Veterinary Assistant certification. I am currently enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary nursing program and am working toward becoming a licensed veterinary nurse so I can continue making a positive difference in the lives of pets and their families. From a young age, I knew that caring for animals was my passion, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to turn that passion into a career. Whether helping patients feel comfortable during their visit or supporting pet owners through their animals' care, I strive to provide compassionate and dedicated service every day. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my cat, Eleanor, and my dog, Franklin. I also love relaxing at the beach, soaking up the sun, and searching for seashells.
